昆士兰大学(The University of Queensland)，简称昆大，世界百强名校和顶尖的高等科研学府之一。始建于1910年，是昆士兰州的第一所综合型大学，也是澳大利亚最大最有声望的大学之一，同时还是六所砂岩学府(Sandstone Universities)之一。昆大是澳洲八大名校(Group of Eight)的盟校成员，同时也是UNIVERSITAS 21成员之一，其科学研究的经费及学术水平在澳大利亚的大学之中始终位居前列，在学博士生的人数最多。昆士兰大学The University of Queensland拥有两位诺贝尔奖得主，前澳大利亚总理Kevin Rudd和前国防部长Peter Gration都是昆大校友 。昆士兰大学均处于世界排名top50的超级顶尖大学位置，稳居澳洲大学前五名 。

 

昆士兰大学预科课程(University of Queensland Foundation Year)，是专为进入位于澳大利亚布里斯班的昆士兰大学本科学位课程的海外留学生设计的。由海外留学服务中心(IES)提供。成立于1998年，已经有超过4500的学生通过IES预科进入昆士兰大学的本科学习。

作为一个教育机构，海外留学服务中心(IES)向来自40多个国家的留学生提供该课程，并深知如何指导学生调整以适应澳大利亚的大学生活。昆士兰大学预科课程专业设置广泛，有会计、经济学、文学、计算机、生物、化学、工程、健康学和社会科学等。目前有350多个学生注册在读，许多学生是为进入昆士兰大学著名的药学、牙科学、生物技术、IT和工程学院做准备。

根据学生的英语水平和学业成绩，可以选择标准课程、延长课程或者快捷课程，IES得到认可的预科课程为进入大学学习的学生提供大学预科四级证书。

必修科目
大学学术英语（AE）
该核心科目包括三大模块。第一模块是针对大学学习的学术英语的教学，主要培养学术技能，如文献引用、论文和报告撰写、研讨会技能、做笔记以及听读能力。第二模块是介绍澳大利亚的当代世界性问题，包括澳大利亚的人口和人口统计学的关键问题、媒体热点问题，以及政府和政治。这部分课程的作业能够培养学生的批判思维和分析能力。最后第三模块主要教给学生学术研究技能。这包括使用电子和学术数据库、在线资源评估以及基本文字处理。
数学
该科目旨在培养量化推理和解决问题所需的数学知识和能力，它将增进学生对一系列重点领域的理解力和胜任力。课程内容包括计算、序列、级数和二项展开式、常用函数及其图表、三角函数、微积分以及统计学和概率。考虑在各种情况下的广泛应用，并借助于数学技术工具，通过调查研究现实世界的问题来培养经验。

选修科目（任选3门）
生物学
该科目旨在培养学生对活生物体及其环境的了解。课程内容包括分类法、生态系统、细胞生物学、动植物生理学、繁殖、生长与发育、遗传学以及进化。还有一个为期两天的斯德布鲁克岛实地考察，旨在强调并说明主要栖息地、生活区和生态原则。该科目含实践课程，主要指导学生熟练并安全地使用实验室和实地研究设备。
化学
该科目旨在培养学生对基本化学概念的了解，课程前半部分的主题包括：原子结构、化学名称、公式和方程式、定量计算、周期性、键合和热化学。课程后半部分主要内容包括：气体定律、化学平衡、酸和碱、可溶性、氧化还原反应和基础有机化学。该科目含实验室课程，主要指导学生熟练并安全地使用实验室设备。该课程被设为进一步攻读昆士兰大学化学学位课程（如科学、化学工程、药剂学和兽医学等学位）的大学预科课程。
物理学
该科目涵盖物理学的现代基础理论原理和基本实验技巧，旨在让学生了解物理学在社会中的作用。该科目是为想读需要物理学知识的理工科（尤其是计算机和软件工程学、电子和电气工程学以及土木工程学）的学生所设计的。其他目标专业包括：物理治疗、兽医学和医学。该科目含实验室课程，指导学生熟练并安全地使用实验室设备。
会计学
课程内容包括现金和信贷会计、起草期末报告和年终程序、设置和运行计算机化会计系统。该科目向学生介绍会计学概念和原则，以及确保有效的内部会计职能控制程序。用研究作业来审查会计的作用、合规经营以及会计职业道德。
工商管理
该科目涵盖与组织行为学、营销、财务、人力资源管理和国际商务管理等专业有关的一系列理论。这些课程内容的教学采用案例研究法，即把理论应用于最佳国际实践。学生们将学习如何制作技术文件，包括商业、战略、财务和营销计划，并通过观摩来了解如何展示演示文稿。IES的独特做法是，学生在一个项目团队进行合作，在计算机创建的虚拟世界里管理一家企业，即虚拟企业（VBE）。该程序让学生在一个积极参与和充满挑战的环境中开展企业的发展和经营活动，这与现实世界中组织管理的动态性和复杂性非常相似。
经济学
该科目旨在为学生提供做出商业和人生决定必备的知识和分析技能。课程内容包括中国经济、定价、寡头垄断、货币与银行业务、汇率以及政府政策对支出和利率的影响。在为期一年的课程中，学生将会提高其口语、写作和分析能力，为大学学习做好准备。
行为科学
该科目提供对社会科学的总体介绍，帮助学生提高对人类行为的认识，包括个人、社会群体中的一员以及整个社会的行为。第一学期在传播学领域开设。我们鼓励和支持学生提高演讲技能，并了解跨文化和人际沟通。然后学生从不同的社会学观点和理论视角来探讨和分析相关社会问题。第二学期侧重于个人心理学，涉及认知、记忆、社会影响、学习、心理健康和研究等方面。
信息技术
该科目旨在培养计算机基础方面的扎实背景知识，这是各专业本科生的必备知识，同时让拟读信息技术学位的学生打下扎实的基础。课程内容包括图像处理、网络编码、信息系统和编程。课程还有理论部分，向学生讲授计算机基本原理、数字系统以及与计算机广泛应用有关的社会问题等方面的基础知识。强调实际操作，即学生使用计算机进行实际测试和完成个人家庭作业。
研究
该科目侧重于让学生通过计划和撰写自己的研究作业来参与研究过程。在第一学期，学生主要识别从各种不同角度理解问题所需的不同类型的思考技能，并在理解的基础上提出逻辑性的原始论点。学生通过小型书面任务来探讨时事问题，并起草一份计划书，作为主要研究作业的基础。在第二学期，学生会在教师的督促下遵循有组织的计划来撰写自己的主要研究作业和相关支持文件。学期结束时，学生以口头报告方式向同学们展示其研究结果 。
建筑（只在第一学期课程中可选）
该科目通过对原则和技巧的探讨，向学生介绍建筑物的设计和建造，并让他们深入了解建筑理论、历史和实践。学生有机会进行自己的建筑设计项目，在项目中他们会创建一份建筑设计纲要，进行实地分析，完成设计程序，并创建项目模型。
