香港是进行香港、中国内地及其它亚洲地区间国际商业与金融投资争端仲裁和调解的理想场所。因此，在2007到2008年间，香港大学法学院开设了仲裁与调解法学硕士课程，旨在使专业人士掌握各种争议解决方法的知识、技能与专业知识，包括协商、调停和仲裁。香港大学仲裁与调解这一全新的法学硕士专业课程接受法律或非法律专业背景的学生申请，它同时也是香港大学法学院发起的仲裁与调解教学研究综合议案中必不可少的一部分。
